St Peter Port’s Iconic Landmark Transforms into Stylish Workspaces

Polygon Serviced Offices Limited (PSO), a Polygon Collective company, is passionate about breathing new life into spaces with unique features and has a compelling story in both Guernsey and Jersey.

PSO’s latest project, ’Upper House’, on Smith Street in the heart of St Peter Port, has a rich history dating back to 1883. This attractive building recently homed the Guernsey Post Office.

The project will comprise of open-concept work areas, stylish meeting rooms and breakout space. Every aspect will be carefully curated to provide 6306 sq ft of contemporary refurbished office space for businesses to thrive. It will also house a new artisan restaurant on the ground floor.

One of the unique features PSO provides is the pan-island sharing of communal areas. This allows tenants to make use of the board rooms and meeting spaces regardless of their base, whether within one island or across both the Jersey and Guernsey spaces. Making the most of these resources is advantageous to many tenants.

Upper House is PSO’s first project in conjunction with Field Day, a dynamic and design-led property development company with a property portfolio across the UK and Guernsey.

Alex Belcher, Founder and Managing Director of Polygon Serviced Offices says:

‘We are extremely excited about our latest project. Collaborating with Field Day has been an intuitive partnership as we both share the same vison and values of delivering high-quality, well-designed spaces built with the end user in mind, without compromising on flexibility and user-friendliness.

‘Our plans for Upper House are all in the detail and finishes, making it an attractive place to work and offering calm surroundings for break-out and social spaces. The space has been approached with the new landscape of businesses re-thinking their environments, confirming that the office is certainly not dead if the environment is right.’

This significant project in partnership with Field Day will be assisted by key partners Colin Smith Partnership, Axis Mason Architects, Ravenscroft Construction and C8 Mechanical and Electrical amongst others, is due to open its doors in the spring 2024.

Mr Belcher adds: ‘Breathing new life into these socially and architecturally significant buildings is more important than ever. Our vision for Upper House is to seamlessly blend its rich heritage with the demands of today’s dynamic workforce.’
